Those totum poles look really interesting. So did you tell Santa Clause that for Christmas you wanted Kandra,Jared and Baby to come home for the holidays!
Frank and I have been married for 47 years and have lived in Heber-Overgaard for 39 of those 47 years. Aside from raising 4 exceptional ;) children, we are having a wonderful time being retired (semi-retired), traveling to visit the kids and spending more time doing the things that we never had a chance to do while kids were still at home. We have 15 grandchildren (and hopefully lots more :), that we love to spoil and spend time with. When we are not out and about I love to garden, learn new domestic arts and read while Frank enjoys watching sports and western movies with John Wayne on T.V. He had continued with a part-time Educational Consulting job with vocational education in the surrounding high schools but it ended this year--2012. He still serves on a vocational educational school board (NAVIT). The superintendent likes to keep Frank's brain cells active and thankfully they still work well.We both love spending time with neighbors and friends. Four years ago (Feb. 9, 2009) Frank was diagnosed with multiple myeloma [IgG kappa], a nasty incurable cancer of the bone marrow. In 1992 he had been treated and cured of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in his throat by chemotherapy. Recently he was told by his oncologist that the chemotherapy for the lymphoma caused the genetic mutations leading to the mm cancer. They are both blood cancers. He's also been told that the chemo/radiation he has had to take for this cancer will cause another if he lives long enough! Modern medicine for you! Anyway, enough about us, blog away!!
Frank and I were married in 1965 in the Mesa Arizona Temple, graduated from school at NAU, he in teaching and I as a nurse. His first job was in Lakeside where we lived and loved the great people there. Our first two children, Wendy and Lance came to us during the six years we were there. We moved to Heber where Frank became Administrator of the school district there. Two additional girls came to us, Kristal and Kandra, and we were grateful for the opportunity to raise our 4 children in such an awesome community. I love to garden, read, sew, crochet, paint and other crafts and hike around the mountain. We both love serving in the Temple one day a week. Highlights now are our visits to see kids and grandkids as often as we can. Wendy married and returned to Lakeside, Lance and family live in St. George and Kristal is in Salt Lake City and Kandra is in Ohio. We enjoy traveling to new places and meeting new people. Frank is (semi)retired, does educational consulting, mostly at home on his own schedule which gives us opportunities to take off when we need (want) to!
